so things....

ummmm...gearing up for the big birthday celebration. i can't divulge the plans as of yet because it's a big surprise for the boy. but trust me, there will be pictures and tales of this kick ass weekend i have planned. also there's a full moon on jon's birthday and i'm not just referring to my ass.

i'm so looking forward to this holiday weekend. i took last friday off to go to the dmv. luckily it wasn't too busy because it was a gorgeous day outside so all in all it only took me about an hour. i had to take both the written basic skills test and the written motorcycle test (which i passed both with zero wrong! whoot!). naturally i had to spend the rest of the day shopping. i actually found pants, pants that fit! so anyway, my next step is making an appointment to take the driving test. it would kick ass to get my motorcycle license with a scooter then upgrade to a ducati when we move back to chicago. i think the moms would keel over and die. seriously though, i would like to bring my scooter back to chicago but it's not really feasible. i don't think they sell bajaj out there making it quite the expensive pain in the ass for repairs. we'll see how attached i am.

on another note, i'm working on a pretty sweet recipe database. i'm trying to compile all my favorites and new ones i want to try. jon was nice enough to set it up through movable type so it's really simple. i haven't linked it yet because (and i know i've said this 1 bagillion times and cried wolf) a redesign is coming. soon. in the meantime you can go here to view. feel free to participate. i'll post recipes i get through email with a few exceptions ie: no veal, foie grois, etc. sorry. also, if anyone has ideas on how to make it more user friendly, i'm open to suggestion. it's still very much beta-ish.

lastly my sister asked me to pass on the word about this. pretty sad and disturbing. i just don't understand people sometimes.
